First Visit to a Prosthodontist

Welcome to San Diego Prosthodontics

Your initial appointment to our office will allow time to assess your concerns, involve a thorough medical and dental history, and include a full mouth examination. Additional diagnostic material, such as X-rays, models of your mouth, or discussions with other doctors may be needed. Once all the information is gathered, we will discuss your treatment options, the appointments required and the fees. We encourage you to ask questions regarding your mouth and the recommended treatment, and to bring a spouse or confidant along to listen to the consultation and make inquiries.  Our friendly, caring staff will contribute to your overall comfort in our office. Your time is as valuable as our time, so we do our utmost to keep to scheduled appointment times. We look forward to conferring with you to help you to achieve optimal dental health.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Your referral slip and any x-rays if applicable.
  • A list of medications you are currently taking.
  • If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the necessary information. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims in a timely manner.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).

X-Rays

If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office for your consultation. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.

X-rays can be emailed to [email protected]
