Complete dentures are prostheses designed to replace all of a patient’s missing teeth. Many patients have lost some or all of their natural teeth due to tooth decay, gum [periodontal] disease or trauma.  Dentures are supported by the remaining jaw bone and gum tissues. For some patients, this becomes difficult to tolerate, and in those cases we will employ dental implants to assist in the support, stability and retention of complete dentures.  Click here for more information on implant-supported dentures and their advantages over conventional dentures.

Do you need dentures?

To see if dentures are an option for you, the best place to start is to schedule a consultation with a prosthodontist.  A prosthodontist is a dental specialist recognized by the American Dental Association with 2-3 additional years of training after graduation from dental school. Drs. Gulbransen and Recksiedler are prosthodontists who focus on the restoration and replacement of missing teeth, gum tissues and bone, including complex denture cases. They will be able to determine if dentures or another treatment plan is the best option for your unique situation.

Implant- Supported Lower Denture

What makes our prosthodontic practice unique is the fact that we have a fully equipped prosthetic laboratory in our office. It is staffed with two, full-time dental laboratory technicians. This ensures complete control and timely delivery of superior quality customized crowns, bridges, dental implant restorations, dentures and facial prostheses.

We have the ability on site to accomplish all phases of complete denture fabrication, most implant supported restorations and cast precious metal crowns and bridges. A custom milling machine is available for the fabrication of high-end implant supported restorations. All phases of fabrication of silicone facial prostheses, from sculpting to processing and painting are handled in our laboratory.

Our In-House Laboratory is designed to assist Dr. Gulbransen and Dr. Recksiedler and allows them to provide high quality care to their patients.

Dentures are repaired on site for our existing patients.  If you are not a patient,  SAN DIEGO PROSTHODONTICS would be happy to evaluate your prosthesis to see if it can be repaired. Please call us for an appointment at 619-463-3773.
